Pushy Salesreps in Madison...
We have noticed something interesting as we have looked at some of the copier deals in Madison that we have lost. People are making a fundamental mistake in understanding and they need to understand this as it is costing them a ton of money. We hate to be the givers of bad news, but this is so consistent lately, we have to say something about these unethical copier pracitces in Madison.
Here is a typical scenario — All inclusive copier contract for $199.00 for 5,000 pages a month and the “overage pages is $.005 per print. We look at the copier and see the overage prints are at our cost and scratch our head as to how they could do this so cheap! As we look deeper, the customer is actually only printing 2,000 pages a month meaning they are paying the “cost rate” for 3,000 prints they never will use.
Basically what this does in this case is to make the $.005 prints 2.5 times more expensive to be $.0125 per print. We would normally charge about $.009 for the same prints and the customer pays more thinking they are saving a bunch of money. It’s really a clever trick. Keep an eye open for it here in Madison!
